The Committee of Management of the TSSEA decided that this association should develop a document which may be used by members and other companies engaged, either directly or indirectly, in the production of thermally sprayed coatings.

A special committee was set up under the chair of Dr J Blunt and details of those involved are provided in the Foreword. This work is now completed and published on this site for the free access of members by logging on in the appropriate area.

Many aspects requiring attention are involved and where necessary experts in particular fields were co opted to ensure that all available information was considered by the committee and that the document would be as comprehensive as possible. The Health and Safety Executive were represented on the committee and their valuable contributions were of great assistance in the production of this code.
