TSSEA Rules & Regulations
A 25 page booklet is available detailing the constitution and is available on request from the secretary of the TSSEA.
Categories of and requirements for membership
Membership of the TSSEA is open to institutions, companies and individuals who are involved in matters relating to Surface Engineering. There are currently 4 different categories of membership, depending on the main activity of the applicant.
These are:
- Suppliers of thermal spraying or other allied equipment and consumables.
- Companies offering a contract service for users who do not wish to carry out the work themselves.
- Universities.
- Other associations or Institutes associated with surface coatings.
- Personal members.
The services and benefits available to each category are the same. Personal members are those who do not have a company connection in the surfacing industry eg self employed advisors such as consultants or inspectors. Member companies are included in the directory of members whereas Personal members are identified by the names and addresses only of the individuals only. Each category has a different subscription level.
Membership of the association is by application giving basic details of the operations of the company/individual concerned together with referee details. Such applications are placed before the Management Committee and acceptance is by majority vote at any ordinary meeting.
Governance of TSSEA
The association is governed by the Committee of Management, the members of which retire after two years by rotation. Find further information about the committee and its role here.
Payment for membership
The cost of membership is available on request from the Secretary of the TSSEA. Membership subscriptions are due annually in January, invoices for these subscriptions are issued in December of the previous year.
